Quicken Error OL-89-B- Quicken Help Supports

The Quicken OL-89 error occurs mainly when there is a temporary service interruption. Try to update your accounts sometimes later or the next business day. You can also contact your bank if they tell you it was resolved or never happened and if the problem continues. Examine your account information in Quicken.
Causes of the Quicken OL-89-B error
  • The Account closed with a bank but still available in Quicken.
  •  The account information is incorrect.
  • The data has some integrity problems.
1. Make sure Your Quicken software is running with the latest update
  • Open Quicken account,
  • Navigate to Help >> Check for updates,
  • If an update is available, click the Yes button to start.
2. Make a backup before diagnosing Quicken Error OL-89
  • Open Quicken account,
  • Go to Files >> Backup and restore> Quicken account file backup … (Ctrl + B),
  • Search for a location to back up in a safe place and then click Back up now,
Follow Below Simple Steps to fix Quicken Error OL-89-B

1. Secure your account information


  • Navigate to Tools >> Account List (Ctrl + A),
  • Click Edit for the account that is causing this error code,
  • On the General tab, verify your account information, such as account number, route number, customer identification, financial institution name,
  • If the information is correct, click OK and then continue with the steps below and if you find incorrect information, correct it.

2. Check your hidden accounts


  • Navigate to Tools >> Account List (Ctrl + A),
  • Check to show hidden accounts in the lower-left corner. If there are no hidden accounts in Quicken, you will not be able to see this option,
  • You now have a list of hidden accounts, click Edit and verify that your account has the correct information,
  • If the hidden account is no longer in your bank or you do not want to download it, deactivate your online services,

3. Deactivate your affected accounts


  • Navigate to Tools >> Account List (Ctrl + A),
  • Click Edit for the account that cannot download transactions in Quicken,
  • Select the Online Services tab,
  • Click Disable,
  • Click on the OK button.

4. Copy and Validate your Quicken data file


  • Navigate to File> File Operations> Copy …
  • No changes are necessary, just click OK
  • On the next screen, choose New Copy and then click OK.
  • Go to File> File Operations> Validate and Repair …
  • Now verify Validate file and then click OK
  • Once the validation process is complete, close Quicken and reopens it
  • Now reactivate your Quicken account.

5. Reactivate your deactivated Quicken account


  • Navigate to Tools >> Account List (Ctrl + A),
  • Click Edit for the same account that was deactivated.
  • Select the Online Services tab,
  • Click Configure now.
  • Quicken will tell you on the screen where you must enter your username and password for the financial institution.
  • Click the Connect button,
  • In the process to reactivate the account, Quicken will show you your account information, be sure to LINK your account instead of adding it again
